Best Western Comes to Myanmar

Best Western has opened its first hotel in Myanmar with the rebranding of the Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar as the Best Western Premier Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar.

Located in Mandalay, the hotel currently offers 91 rooms and suites, ranging from the 33sqm Superior Rooms to the spacious 380sqm Presidential Suite. A new wing is under construction and is expected to add a further 200 rooms to the hotel when completed in Q4, 2016.

“Mandalay is a city with a rich history and bright future,” said Best Western International’s senior vice president of brand management, Ron Pohl. “We are delighted to be able to enter this exciting market with such an elite property. Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar has already developed an excellent reputation. The expansion work being planned, combined with the input of Best Western’s international standards of guest service, will usher in a new and exciting era for the hotel and the city.”

Alongside its guest rooms, the Best Western Premier Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar offers meeting facilities, a restaurant and bar, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa, and boutique retail outlets. www.bestwestern.com
