American Airlines to link Los Angeles with HK

American Airlines is set to launch flights from Los Angeles to Hong Kong from September 7, 2016, offering more convenience for business travellers flying between the heart of the American entertainment industry and the international financial centre.

Operating a Boeing 777-300ER, which offers eight seats in first class, 52 in business class, 30 in main cabin extra and 220 in economy, the new service will depart from Los Angeles International Airport at 01:55 and arrive at Hong Kong International Airport at 08:10 the next day. The return flight will depart Hong Kong at 08:20 and touchdown in Los Angeles at 06:40.

“We announced new domestic Los Angeles routes at the end of January, and customers let us know they wanted more great service to even more destinations,” says Andrew Nocella, chief marketing officer for American Airlines. “This route connects customers in Los Angeles with one of the world’s most important business markets and provides convenient connections to important business and leisure destinations across the Pacific.”

American’s new Los Angeles-Hong Kong service will be operated as part of their joint business with Japan Airlines. www.aa.com
