AirAsia to Launch Flights to Shantou

AirAsia will launch direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Shantou, China, four times per week on March 25, 2016, offering business travellers more choice to fly into the eastern coast of Guangdong province.

The new route will be operated with a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. The outbound service, AK142, will depart from Kuala Lumpur at 10:50 and land in Shantou at 15:10: while the return leg, AK143, will leave Shantou at 15:55 and arrive Kuala Lumpur at 20:35.

“We are very happy to add Shantou into our list of destinations in China,” says Spencer Lee, head of commercial for AirAsia Berhad. “There has been a demand for this route, and we are pleased to announce this four times weekly direct flight. We are positive that this route will further add towards the number of Chinese tourist arrivals into Malaysia, especially with the recent announcement by the government to relax visa policies for China visitors into the country.” www.airasia.com
