W Melbourne on Track for February Opening

Opening in early February, W Melbourne is set to shake up the city’s hospitality scene as the crown in the new Collins Arch precinct.

W Hotels Worldwide is set to open its second Australian property in February 2021 with the arrival of the W Melbourne, part of the AU$1.25 billion US$961 million) Collins Arch mixed-use precinct.

The new W hotel promises to embody the city’s creative spirit, igniting guests’ desire to soak up the brand’s super-charged take on luxury in one of Australia’s most liveable cities. Located at 408 Flinders Lane, the hotel will be led by general manager Damon Page, formerly of the W Maldives and W Hong Kong.

The hotel’s 294 guest rooms will offer a distinctively different experience at every accommodation level whilst exuding an understated elegance that is a hallmark of the city’s style. In keeping with the overall design narrative of the hotel, ‘reveal to revel’, guests will uncover aspects of Melbourne’s history and culture through the room’s curated design features.

W Melbourne’s exceptional 29 suites, including four spacious WOW Suites, take centre stage with bold design and luxury furnishings, whilst the brand’s interpretation of the traditional presidential suite, the Extreme WOW Suite on the 15th floor features a 40sqm balcony with expansive views of the Yarra River and a modern take on an old school jukebox. All guests will be able to tune in and tune out as they wish, stirring things up by making their favourite cocktail from their private W MixBar and connecting to the high-quality sound system to play their own tunes.

Business travellers will also be able to obsess over beverage and food with four vibrant and totally distinctive restaurants and bars that will amp up the W Melbourne experience and give a nod to what people love about this 24/7 city. WARABI will showcase the epitome of Japanese food, culture and service, while Lollo, under the culinary creative direction of local chef Adam D’Sylva, will take diners from day to night and beyond, celebrating the chefs mixed heritage and unique approach to menu curation.

In addition, Curious promises to be the place to see and be seen. Culture, music, and bold concoctions will be paired with a menu full of small bites and sharing plates for an all-night experience. Like falling down a rabbit hole, the bar’s design is as impressive as the bespoke cocktail list, while Culprit will be a café-meets-wine-bar experience that will entice guests to mix and mingle throughout the day and into the night.

To encourage W’s philosophy of ‘detox, retox, repeat’, FIT and WET on Level 14 will offer spectacular city views, a state-of-the-art fitness facility and a gold-roof adorned indoor pool with poolside bar and DJ booth.
