The Ritz-Carlton has unveiled its first property in Suzhou, China, bringing its signature luxury to the historic Gusu District.
Dubbed the “Venice of the East,” Suzhou’s rich heritage—marked by UNESCO-listed gardens and the Grand Canal—finds a modern echo in this 190-room hotel, located just two kilometers from attractions like Lingering Garden and three kilometers from Suzhou Railway Station.
Designed by KPF Architects and Peter Remedios, the property melds Suzhou’s silk trade legacy with sleek, minimalist interiors, offering 57 suites, including the expansive 306-square-meter Ritz-Carlton Suite with terrace views.
Corporate travellers will appreciate the 508-square-meter grand ballroom, three meeting rooms, and a 24-hour fitness center, while dining options—Alkanna (modern bistro), Feng Pan Ting (tea lounge), and Biao Xia (Huaiyang cuisine)—cater to business entertaining.
Amenities like the Ritz-Carlton Club, indoor pool, and tailored cultural experiences (tea ceremonies, Huangjiu toasts) enhance the stay.
“This debut strengthens our luxury footprint in Greater China,” says Bart Buiring, Managing Director, Luxury, Greater China, Marriott International.
Poised as a hub for commerce and culture, The Ritz-Carlton, Suzhou is set to elevate business travel in this dynamic city
