SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, has launched a new thrice-weekly service to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, joining its parent carrier in serving the route, while providing passengers with a seamless journey with more flexible flight options.
The outbound flights, operated with a Boeing 737-800 featuring Business Class and Economy Class cabins, take off at 08:50 on Wednesdays and Saturdays to arrive in Colombo at 10:05, and leave the Sri Lankan capital at 11:05 the same day to land in Singapore at 17:30. On Thursdays, the flights depart from Singapore at 07:30 to arrive Colombo at 09:15 and leave the city at 10:30 to arrive in Singapore at 17:00. All times local.
Customers onboard the flight will enjoy a full-service experience, including inflight meals, inflight entertainment on SilkAir Studio, as well as baggage allowance of 40kg and 30kg for Business and Economy class, respectively.
With the launch of the new service, SilkAir’s route network is now extended to 53 destinations across 15 countries. These flights will complement Singapore Airlines’ current daily flights to Colombo, offering a total of 10 weekly round-trip services operated by the two airlines.
