The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore Unveils A New Meeting Venue Option

The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has revealed a new event venue with an overwater pool cover, adding over 1400sqm of outdoor meeting spaces at the hotel, while promising an impressive experience for business clients and event attendees.

Following a recent transformation, the Singapore hotel’s new outdoor swimming pool boasts a three-tiered timber pool deck, private cabanas, a pool bar, and an outdoor grill. Located next to the new Ritz-Carlton Spa and Gym, this holistic lifestyle and events arena on level one can be booked for exclusive use.

Made of Plexiglas, or acrylic glass, the transparent table-tops are extremely durable and engineered to support weights of up to 800 kilograms per cube. When placed into the water, the standing Plexiglas-top cubes can be custom-built to take on various shapes to accommodate the entire length and width of the pool, or just a portion to suit a variety of event purposes.

Catering for dinner or cocktail events, the pool platform can accommodate up to 200 persons for a sit-down buffet dinner, or up to 450 people for a cocktail reception, making for a unique overwater dining experience. The outdoor atmosphere can be accentuated with the possibility of video projection mapping, LED lighting in the trees and foliage, as well as underwater lighting to supplement the pool’s floodlights.

With a new entrance accessible via Raffles Avenue, guests attending events by the pool now have the option of dropping off or valet parking, instead of having to go through the main hotel lobby or carpark.

“In our endeavor to innovate the luxury hotel experience, we came up with the concept of offering our guests a versatile outdoor lifestyle events venue through providing the flexibility of holding events over water through partially, or completely covering the pool,” says Peter Mainguy, general manager. “We are the first luxury hotel in Singapore to offer this capability of transforming events with a pool cover.”
