German luxury luggage brand Rimowa has collaborated with travel platform Skyhour to create the limited-edition Rimowa + Skyhour Original Cabin, a suitcase that’s more than meets the eye.
Dubbed the world’s first ‘experiential case’, Rimowa has taken its iconic Original Cabin, an iconic anodized aluminium case that’s robust yet surprisingly lightweight, and matched it with credit from the travel provider, a specialist in travel gifting.

Dubbed the “Venmo of air travel”, Skyhour is the first of its kind – a travel platform that allows you to gift flight-booking credits to family and friends in the form of “skyhours” that are redeemable 1-1 with flying hours on their website. This also allows business travellers to purchase their travel in advance, which helps meet budgets, and use the associated credit when needed.
With the purchase of each limited-edition Rimowa + Skyhour case, you receive 12 skyhours of travel, every month for 12 months. Each Skyhour can be redeemed for one hour of travel toward any flight on the site. The Rimowa + Skyhour limited-edition aluminum Rimowa Original Cabin case is available exclusively at rimowa.com and is priced from US$6,000.
