Qatar Airways to Launch Additional Non-Stop Colombo Service

Qatar Airways will introduce a fourth daily non-stop service from Doha to Colombo from August 1, 2017, allowing for more flexibility for business travellers flying to and from the Sri Lankan capital.

Two of the four daily flights will be serviced by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The increased frequency and aircraft upgrade will boost overall capacity to and from Colombo by 3,136 seats weekly, a 20 percent increase from current weekly capacity.

The new daily flights will depart at 18:50 to arrive in Colombo at 02:55 the next day. Return flights will take off at 03:55 to land at 06:45. All times local.

Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777-300ER features 24 Business Class seats and 388 Economy Class seats. Passengers across both cabins can enjoy up to 3,000 entertainment options throughout their journey with Qatar Airways extensive Oryx One collections.

“Besides our acclaimed inflight service, our passengers can now also enjoy our modern B777 aircraft when they travel with us on our non-stop service to Doha and onward to destinations in Europe, Americas, and the Middle East,” says Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker. “The additional frequency will provide passengers with even greater flexibility and convenience when planning their next trip with Qatar Airways.”
