Qatar Airways to Fly to Almaty in Kazakhstan

Qatar Airways will launch scheduled twice-weekly passenger services to Almaty, Kazakhstan starting from November 19 2021.

The new service, which will enable passengers flying to and from Almaty to enjoy seamless connectivity to over 140 destinations via Doha’s Hamad International Airport, will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy Class.

Kazakhstan is the economic powerhouse of the Central Asia region, making it an appealing destination for business travellers. The new service will depart Doha as QR391 on Fridays and Mondays at 1.15 am and arrive in Almaty at 8.35 am. The return service, QR392, departs Kazakhstan on Fridays and Mondays at 9.40 pm and arrives at 11.55 pm the same day.

Qatar Airways continues to rebuild its network, which currently stands at over 140 destinations. Qatar Airways also features flexible booking policies that offer unlimited changes in travel dates and destinations, and fee-free refunds for all tickets issued for travel completed by May 31, 2022.

A multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named World’s Best Airline in the latest World Airline Awards, managed by the international air transport rating organisation Skytrax. The airline’s hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA), was recently recognised as the ‘Best Airport in the World 2021’, by the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2021.

“We are proud to bring our award-winning services to Kazakhstan, adding this unique destination to our growing network,” Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker. “This new service reinforces the warm relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Kazakhstan, and reaffirms our commitment to further developing trade and tourism between our two great countries.”

In addition to this, Qatar Airways has become the first global airline to achieve the prestigious 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating by Skytrax. This follows the success of Hamad International Airport (HIA) as the first airport in the Middle East and Asia to be awarded a Skytrax 5-Star COVID-19 Airport Safety Rating. These awards provide assurance to passengers across the world that the airline’s health and safety standards are subject to the highest possible standards of professional, independent scrutiny and assessment.
