Qatar Airways Expands China Network with New Beijing Daxing Service

Qatar Airways continues its Greater China network expansion with a new service to Beijing’s Daxing International.

Qatar Airways will resume passenger service between Doha and Beijing in Summer 2023 with daily flights to Daxing International Airport (PKX) starting 26 March, making it one of the first international airlines to fly to China’s newest mega gateway after border reopening.

The flights to Beijing Daxing will be operated by the airline’s state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER featuring 24 Qsuite seats in Business Class seats and 388 seats in Economy Class.

The launch of Beijing Daxing (at bottom) reestablishes the airline’s presence in Northern China and enables global travellers to seamlessly transit to the majority of domestic cities on partner China Southern Airlines. Residents of the Jing-Jin-Ji Metropolitan Region can also enjoy unmatched connectivity to Qatar Airways’ global network of 150 destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas.

To boost the Greater China market’s tourism and trade recovery, the airline is also scaling up its capacity to four other cities this summer, including two daily flights to Hong Kong, daily flights to Guangzhou and Shanghai, as well as four weekly flights to Hangzhou.

The latest expansion sees Qatar Airways becoming the largest Gulf carrier to operate in Greater China based on overall frequencies with up to 39 weekly departures to five gateways in Summer 2023; offering strengthened flexibility and convenience to business and leisure customers as they plan their summer travels.

“Throughout the pandemic, Qatar Airways has consistently maintained its presence in the Greater China region by operating a reliable schedule with minimum cancellations, keeping more than 100,000 passengers connected with the world between March 2020 and December 2022 via both commercial and charter services,” says Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker. “We are proud to contribute to China’s reopening in 2023 and support more local customers, trade partners and corporate clients by increasing our overall frequencies and launching a new service to Beijing’s brand-new Daxing Airport this summer.
