Plaza Premium Expands to Istanbul

Leading airport hospitality company Plaza Premium Group has expanded its premium services to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.

The airport, which is fully owned by Malaysia Airports, is recognised as an emerging alternative to Istanbul Airport, and under the new development, will hand over the operation of the lounge areas in the terminal as well as all premium services, including fast track and meet & assist services, to Plaza Premium Group from January 1, 2021.

Plaza Premium Group plans to invest in a series of enhancements and upgrades to service and facilities, including the refurbishment of existing airport lounges, to create an elevated lounge experience and to promote a seamless airport journey for global travellers in the years to come.

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) is the Turkish city’s second busiest airport, registering 35.6 million passengers in 2019, and was named Europe’s fastest-growing aviation hub for seven consecutive years from 2009 to 2015. Despite the global pandemic this year, SAW remains among Europe’s top five busiest airports.
