New Luxury Hotel Set to Open in Kyoto

Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto in Japan’s Imperial capital has begun accepting reservations in preparation for the luxurious new hotel’s November 3 opening.

Part of Marriott International’s Luxury Collection, the new hotel will feature 161 guest rooms and 22 suites designed by André Fu, landscaped gardens by Shunsaku Miyagi, and a spa and restaurants by Yohei Akao, while the whole property conforms to the design philosophies of Akira Kuryu, master design advisor, who is known for architectural designs that blend buildings within their surrounding environment.

A fusion of authentic Japanese culture and cutting-edge technology, The Mitsui Kyoto will offer business travellers an indulgent and insightful opportunity to delve into Japan’s traditional heartland, with a contemporary wellness enclave, intimate meeting spaces, and some of the city’s best new dining.

“Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto represents the true essence of Japan framed alongside contemporary aspects,” says general manager Manabu Kusui. “This is expressed in our brand concept – Embracing Japan’s Beauty  – and is embodied throughout the property as we have merged tradition and modern philosophy across design, wellbeing, garden artistry and gastronomy.”

“This is an exciting moment for all of us. As the hotel comes into fruition, the design team are adding the touches to make Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto the ultimate emblem of Japan’s beauty,” continues Mr Kusui. “My team and I look forward to opening the hotel and welcoming guests.”
