Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts has opened a contemporary property, Mövenpick Hotel Colombo, offering business travellers a unique hospitality concept in the Sri Lankan capital.
Located in the heart of Colombo’s thriving commercial district, the 24-storey Mövenpick Hotel Colombo reflects the country’s new-found energy and optimism, while introducing an urban experience to guests, with a different themed concept on each floor, from the ground to the roof. This sophisticated property is characterised by its modern architecture, with a diamond-shaped exterior, which blends well with the organic hanging gardens, boasting over 14,300 plants.
All 219 rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows and are luxuriously furnished. The property includes the largest executive lounge and rooms in the city, with a separate welcome reception dedicated to business travellers, while banquet facilities include five meeting rooms and a boardroom. Guests can also enjoy a workout with a view at the fully-equipped gym, located 100 metres high, or relax at the Spa Ceylon, where signature treatments feature the use of natural oils and herbs.
The new Colombo hotel’s seven creative bar and restaurant concepts, all promising unique themes, theatre and cuisine, include the Brasserie, Colombo’s first in-hotel classic French restaurant; Robata Grill and Lounge, serving Japanese cuisine and sushi; an exclusive Mansion bar and night lounge; and the Pool Bar, where drinks and light meals can be enjoyed with city views.
