Luggage brand Samsonite has released Magnum Eco, a new range of check-in and carry on hard cases made from recycled plastics.
Continuing the luxury industry’s move towards more sustainable materials and production processes, Samsonite has launched the Magnum Eco, a durable lightweight luggage collection made from recycled material.
The exterior shell of the new luggage line is made from Recyclex, a recycled polypropylene, while the inside fabric is made from recycled PET bottles (approximately 14 bottles and 483 yoghurt cups per case). The result is a collection of great looking suitcases that are not only real-world durable but also help keep harmful plastics out of landfills, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
The new collection has been developed in collaboration with Quality Circular Polymers, the plastics recycling joint venture of SUEZ and LyondellBasell, and includes pieces in four sizes ranging from 20-75cm – and five colour options, including Ice Blue, Maple Orange and Forest Green, each inspired by nature.
“We are delighted to provide Samsonite with solutions that cover the whole value chain to produce high-quality secondary raw materials and satisfy the highest standards, from industries to consumers,” says Antoine Grange, CEO of SUEZ Recycling and Recovery in Asia.
The cases each feature four spinner-style wheels, twin-tube handles, and internal dividers for easy packing. When it comes to security, business travellers can rest assured their belongings are safe thanks to a 3-Point Lock System that’s TSA approved.
