Hilton Lake Taupo to Unveil New-Look Conference and Events Spaces

New Zealand’s Hilton Lake Taupo will unveil its redesigned conference and event facilities, set to re-open in December 2017.

The refurbishment and extension to the hotel’s iconic heritage wing will highlight the Victorian design of the original building, built in 1889, while introducing state-of-the-art technology and contemporary furnishings to create a world-class event venue.

The new facilities, designed by Studio Design + Architecture, will feature an abundance of natural light, direct access to landscaped gardens, and a superb interior featuring Kichler Circolo chandeliers, custom carpets, and locally handcrafted solid timber side cabinets.

Investments in new technology with Futureworks, which specialises in installing high specification commercial audio-visual systems, will provide corporates with access to fixed and portable LCD screens, projectors, surround sound systems in every room, and high-speed wifi to ensure a seamless experience for every event.

With the refurbishment doubling theatre-style capacity to 260 people, and total capacity for a stand-up event increasing to 430, the refurbished property will cater to both small and large functions.

“The development work will reinforce Hilton’s position as the clear choice for conferences, meetings, weddings, social functions and corporate events in the Central North Island region,” says Adrian Teh, general manager, Hilton Auckland and Hilton Lake Taupo. “This extensive refurbishment will ensure that Hilton Lake Taupo remains the premier location for events. The versatility of the spaces, combined with the property’s outstanding location, spectacular views, and dedicated Team, means the hotel is well equipped to deliver customised solutions and exceptional experiences.”
