Hainan Airlines to Launch Non-stop Service between Chongqing and New York

Hainan Airlines will launch a non-stop service between Chongqing, China, and New York, on October 20, 2017, marking the first non-stop service between a city in western China and New York, while offering US-bound business travellers more choices when flying to the East Coast’s financial city.

The new round-trip service will be available twice weekly. Flights will depart Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport on Wednesdays and Fridays at 22:00 and arrives John F. Kennedy International Airport at 00:50 the following day. Return flights depart New York on Thursdays and Saturdays at 02:50 and arrive Chongqing at 06:35 the following day. All times local.

Hainan Airlines rolled out a non-stop service between Chongqing and Los Angeles on March 21, 2017, representing the first-ever nonstop route connecting Chongqing to North America,” says Wang Shaoping, vice chairman of Hainan Airlines. “With the new service, travellers will be able to fly directly from Chongqing to both the East and West coasts of the US, via Hainan Airlines. The opening of the new route is expected to significantly facilitate exchanges and collaborations concerning culture, the economy, and politics between the two countries and to further improve Chongqing’s international role as a key aviation hub.”
