Gulf Air to Return to Singapore in April

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, will recommence a weekly, direct service between the kingdom and Singapore Changi Airport in April.  

A number of airlines have recommenced once-popular routes as travel begins to bounce back after the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the new service is a blast from the past for the Middle Eastern airline.

The new Gulf Air Singapore service, which it first introduced in the mid-1990s and stopped in 2008, using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Gulf Air’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner features 282 seats in a two-class configuration, with 26 Falcon Gold Class seats and 256 Economy Class seats – a 32% increase in capacity on the airline’s previous wide body offering.

Singapore will increase Gulf Air’s list of Asian routes which already includes Bangkok and Manila.

Gulf Air is headquartered in Muharraq, with its main hub at Bahrain International Airport, and operates scheduled services to 52 destinations in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Gulf Air recently moved its operations in the kingdom to a newly opened terminal at Bahrain International. All of the carrier’s flights are now departing and arriving from the brand new terminal, where the airline has opened a state-of-the-art lounge and exclusive check-in counters, dedicated to its passengers and Falconflyer members.
