Fairmont Xiamen Opens in Southern China

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has opened Fairmont Xiamen, a contemporary new addition to Fujian’s coastal metropolis.

Seamlessly blending global sophistication with the vibrant Minnan culture, the new hotel rises 33 stories within the Xiamen Cross-Strait Financial Center, designed by Pritzker laureate Norman Foster’s FOSTER + PARTNERS and promises to offer unparalleled luxury amid the Wuyi Mountains’ dramatic backdrop.

Fairmont Xiamen redefines business hospitality in the city with 420 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, where Art Deco glamour meets Nanyang-inspired serenity. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame sweeping views of the city and the Southeastern China Sea, creating an inspiring setting for executives, while interiors, crafted by Hong Kong’s Cheng & Chung Design, and lush landscapes by SWA Group, harmonise urban energy with nature’s calm.

The new hotel’s dining venues cater to discerning palates and corporate entertaining. Tianxia 1984 Chinese Restaurant reimagines Fujian cuisine with a nod to Quanzhou’s celadon heritage, while Del Mar Italian Restaurant fuses Mediterranean flair with Minnan red-brick aesthetics. Victoria Destination Restaurant, perched atop the tower, offers panoramic sea-to-sky vistas and a menu blending Southeast Asian and global flavours.

For cocktails, Air Loft Bar channels Xiamen Airlines’ elegance with heron-inspired decor, and Plaza Lobby Lounge serves as a vibrant networking hub. Sustainability shines through organic ingredients, low-alcohol options, and zero-waste practices.

For events, Fairmont Xiamen excels with over 3,100 square metres of versatile spaces, including two ballrooms, a sky lawn, and a unique multifunctional auditorium—the city’s only such venue—ideal for product launches, conferences, or gala dinners hosting up to 1,000 guests. Meanwhile, the Fairmont Gold Lounge, a “hotel within a hotel,” offers exclusive check-in and bespoke services, evoking Minnan tranquillity with white heron motifs.

Wellness facilities, including Fairmont Spa and Fairmont Fit, are nestled in a sunken courtyard, their villa-inspired design and glass-walled pool fostering rejuvenation. Eco-conscious initiatives, such as BeWTR’s plastic-free water and electric luxury vehicles, help to underscore Fairmont’s commitment to sustainability.
