Emirates to Add Daily Flights to Colombo

Emirates will launch its fifth daily service between Dubai and Colombo, Sri Lanka, from August 1, 2016. The additional frequency will increase the weekly services on the route to 34, providing business travellers with more flexibility when they arrange their schedule.

Operating a Boeing 777-300ER, the airline will operate five daily flights between the two cities every day except Wednesdays, when it will operate only four flights. The outbound service, EK648, will depart Dubai at 13:55 and arrive in Colombo at 19:55; while the return flight, EK649, will leave Bandaranaike International Airport at 22:10 and arrive in Dubai at 01:00 the following day

“Colombo is a very popular destination for both business and leisure travellers, and is a convenient gateway to Sri Lanka’s idyllic beaches, picturesque countryside and nature reserves,” says Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ senior vice president for commercial operations – West Asia and Indian Ocean. “The increased frequency provides our customers with greater flexibility in their travel plans, allowing them to explore this exciting destination and connect seamlessly to other flights on Emirates’ extensive global network,”

Passengers on Emirates flights can enjoy the famed hospitality of its multi-national Cabin Crew, as well as gourmet cuisine and Emirates’ award-winning ice entertainment system. Guests travelling in premium cabins will also enjoy lounge access in Colombo as well as Emirates’ Chauffeur service in Dubai. www.emirates.com
