China Airlines to Fly New A321neo on Daily Flights to Tokyo Haneda from July 

Preparing for travel demand in the post-Covid era, China Airlines will begin flying its new A321neo passenger aircraft on the Taipei (Songshan)-Tokyo (Haneda) route daily from July 1.

Taiwan-based China Airlines is adding new passenger-carrying capacity. For Northeast Asia routes, daily flights to Tokyo (Haneda) in Japan will commence in July. The service will be conveniently scheduled to depart in the morning and return in the afternoon. Passenger services will also be scheduled for the Tokyo (Narita), Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka routes, while service frequency for Seoul in Korea will be increased to daily flights from August onwards.

For Southeast Asia routes, a weekly service for Kaohsiung-Manila was introduced in June to cater to travellers in southern Taiwan. In August, the following changes will be made for southeast Asia routes departing from Taoyuan: services to Bangkok will be increased to 14 flights per week, services to Manila, Ho Chi Min City and Hanoi will be increased to 10 flights per week, services to Kuala Lumpur will be increased to four flights per week, services to Penang will be increased to two flights per week, services to Singapore and Phnom Penh will be increased to three flights per week, and services to Yangon will be increased to two flights per week.

The Hong Kong route will also be increased to seven services per week with daily flights from July onwards and will be raised again in August to 10 flights per week. Cross-strait routes such as Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai (Pudong) and Xiamen remain in service. From August onwards, services to Beijing and Chengdu will be increased to two flights per week, while the Taoyuan-Shanghai (Pudong) route will be increased to nine flights per week. Rolling reviews and adjustments will be made based on the latest developments in China’s epidemic prevention policy.

China Airlines’ long-haul North American routes to Los Angeles, Ontario, San Francisco, and New York as well as Vancouver are fully in place. Services to Ontario will be increased to two flights per week in August. Flights to Los Angeles will be increased to five per week; the Taiwan and greater Los Angeles area route will now include daily flights. The San Francisco service will be increased to five flights per week while Vancouver will be increased to three flights per week.

On European routes, services to Frankfurt will be increased to four flights per week, services to Amsterdam will be increased to three flights per week, and services to London will be increased to two flights per week. The Oceanic portfolio consists of Australia and New Zealand. For the Australian routes, Sydney and Melbourne will be increased to two flights per week, while Brisbane will have one passenger flight each week. Direct flights to Auckland will be increased to one flight every two weeks.

China Airlines is also preparing to schedule more flights in August and September now that international border restrictions and quarantine policies are being loosened. The third quarter will see the number of passenger flights increase by 40% with more than 150 passenger services each week, keeping pace with the recovery in travel demand.
