AA Launches Business Extra Loyalty Program in Hong Kong

American Airlines has launched its unique travel savings and loyalty program Business Extra in Hong Kong. The loyalty program, designed for small companies and their employees, allows both travelling employees and the company to earn miles on the airline and its partners, with no minimum flight or spend commitment.

Unlike most loyalty programs that benefit the individual customer only, the Business Extra program allows the company purchasing the flights to earn points that can be redeemed for travel awards, while the company’s employees earn AAdvantage miles when they fly.

Companies earn 1 point for every US$5 spent on flights operated by American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia, as well as codeshare flights operated by Finnair, Qantas and Japan Airlines. Points can be redeemed for flights, upgrades and more.

On joining, companies will be given a Business Extra number. To earn points, they can simply add this number when booking flights on American and its partner airlines. Points for travel rewards are valid for two calendar years. Hong Kong is the first destination in Asia to benefit from the program, with plans to roll out Business Extra to other key destinations in the region in the coming months.
