Ascott to Open Somerset Ekamai in Bangkok

Ascott will open its first mixed-use development in the Thai capital, Somerset Ekamai Bangkok, on May 15, 2017, adding 181 accommodation units to the brand’s portfolio in Thailand, while catering for business travellers seeking a longer stay in the city.

Ascott’s new Somerset Ekamai Bangkok comprises three modern buildings housing 130 units of serviced residences with studios and two-bedroom apartments, 81 units of one- and three-bedroom apartments for corporate residences, and a multifunctional conference centre with 51 urban community rooms set in a co-working environment.

The corporate lease and meeting facilities opened in late August 2016, while the 130 serviced residences and 51 urban community rooms will open on May 15, 2017.

The multifunction conference centre is one of Bangkok’s most ideal MICE venues, catering for professional business conferences, trainings and private functions. It consists of an auditorium room as well as five smart meeting and training rooms, all equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology and wireless Internet access throughout the building.

Other facilities at the property include an automatic car parking tower, an outdoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, restaurants, residents’ lounge, spa, as well as indoor and outdoor children’s play areas designed for international executives bringing their families.

Located on Ekamai road in the heart of Bangkok’s CBD, the property is a six-minute walk from Ekamai BTS Sky Train Station, 30-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport, and a 20-minute drive from Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
