United Pulls Priority Pass Partnership

Members of the Priority Pass network of airport lounges will no longer have access to United Club lounges, with the US airline announcing that it is ending its partnership with the airport lounge access provider.

The move is set to take effect from May 15, 2015 and once implemented, will mean that Priority Pass cardholders will be unable to use any of United Club’s 49 lounges around the world.

“We regret to inform you that United Club Lounges, one of our partners, has unfortunately chosen to no longer participate in the Priority Lounge access program, effective May 15,” a Priority Pass spokesperson said in an email statement. “While this does mean that our members will no longer have access to United Club’s 49 lounges, we are pleased to advise that alternative lounges are immediately available at 17 of the 34 airports affected, meaning minimal disruption for Priority Pass members travelling through these locations.”

United Airlines has billed the decision as a move to benefit the airline’s customers. “To ensure our valued United Club members can enjoy our clubs with more space and comfort, we’ll no longer accept Priority Pass beginning May 2015,” said the airline in a statement. www.prioritypass.com
