The Upper House to Launch Bacchantes Afternoon Tea

The Upper House, a Swire property located atop Pacific Place in Hong Kong, will offer the new “Bacchantes Afternoon Tea” at Café Gray Deluxe from September 5 to October 30. Inspired by the 2017 Flacon Collection by French crystal brand Lalique, the new luxurious afternoon tea is an ideal option for an impressive business meeting.

The “Bacchantes” vase, designed in 1927, remains one of its founder René Lalique’s most celebrated creations. The “Bacchantes” motif is enhanced by a sculptural flacon, crowned with a stopper in the shape of an inverted cupola. The scent “Lalique de Lalique” is a fruity aroma, with notes of jasmine, tart, musky blackberry, bright green blackcurrant leaf, suave, and curvy-fleshed pear, along with vanilla, musk and sandalwood.

The new tea set genuinely captures the essence of the fragrance and colour of the Bacchantes, featuring black berry-yoghurt macarons, raspberry-lemon roll cake, and caramel-tonka bean gateaux. Savoury highlights include the special foie gras torchon, baba ganoush-filled piquillo pepper, vitello tonnato wrap roll, and the traditional smoked salmon finger sandwich.

The Bacchantes Afternoon Tea is priced at HK$290 (US$37) per person and HK$530 (US$68) for two. It will be served daily from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. www.upperhouse.com
