The Continental Re-opens With A New Look And A New Menu

The Continental at Pacific Place, Hong Kong, is back with a re-designed look that invites guests to an all-new dining experience and provides business travellers with a warm and refreshing atmosphere to relax and enjoy creative dishes.

The new design by Fresh décor engenders a warm and cozy feeling with emerald green and chestnut brown, complete with comfortable seating and intimate semi-private nooks for diners. From the columns to the decorations, every design detail adds to the overall classic ambience of the restaurant.

Outside on the terrace, guests can enjoy cool tunes from the new DJ booth and portable bar. The drinks list has increased significantly, featuring classic cocktails like the Negroni and Vesper. Together with some tempting new dishes such as freshly shucked oysters, salt cod croquettes and Kenmare smoked salmon, the terrace is set for a relaxing atmosphere.

“We are looking for a warmer feel in the restaurant, and as much as we loved the aesthetics of our previous look, we made it warmer to mirror the energy of the team,” explains restaurant manager Vikash Vaswani. “There are a few new elements added, including the lounge extended from the bar near the entrance and more intimate seating in the dining room. I truly feel The Continental is going to be much more inviting.”

The restaurant offers the Tasting Menu, which is a six-course meal that changes regularly. With this summer’s theme Tomatoes, the menu includes dishes such as crab salad with avocado and tomato gazpacho, slow poached Icelandic cod in tomato dashi, and oven roasted cherry tomatoes. A highlight on the menu for crustacean lovers is the roasted 1kg brittany blue lobster with lobster risotto and tarragon gratin. In addition, operations manager Timothee Becqueriaux has created an intriguing tomato-based cocktail to pair with the menu.

“The warm and inviting décor that enhances the restaurant’s sophisticated look, along with the new additions to the terrace and the mouth-watering dishes created by Chef Joey, make for an amazing dining experience that can only be found at The Continental,” says Willem van Emden, general manager of Swire Restaurants. www.thecontinentalhongkong.com
