Thai Airways and Paypal Provide An Easy and Safe Online Payment Platform

Part of Thai Airways’ “New Web and Mobile Platforms”, the airline has cooperated with Paypal to make electronic payment easy for its passengers, while also providing customers with a safe and efficient online payment option.

With membership, passengers simply use an email address and password to pay for tickets through Paypal.  Passengers who are new Royal Orchid Plus members will receive special bonus miles when they fly their first 2,500 miles, and may accrue a maximum of 4,000 miles.

“Thai collaborated with Paypal in order to make electronic payment more convenient for passengers and give them more choices with this payment gateway global leader that is used by over 200 million customers worldwide,” says Teerapol Chotichanapibal, Thai Airway’s executive vice president, commercial department.

Thai Airways hopes that its customers in Thailand and Asia, especially ASEAN nations such as Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam, will take advantage of making payments through Paypal.

“Paypal has a consumer protection policy that safeguards businesses and customers in each transaction, resulting in increased confidence when making international digital payments,” says Rahul Shinghal, general manager, Southeast Asia, Paypal.

The “New Web and Mobile Platforms” campaign will be implemented to further develop the airline’s online ticket sales system through websites and smartphones, in order to meet consumers’ needs and use of digital technology.
