Soho Spice Relaunches in Central, Hong Kong

With a sophisticated new design and an exciting new menu inspired by iconic street food of Southeast Asia, Dining Concept’s Soho Spice has relaunched in bustling Central, Hong Kong, with an array of innovative dishes created by award-winning chef Peter Cuong Franklin.

For 14 years Soho Spice has been a culinary icon at the heart of one of Hong Kong’s most vibrant precincts, just steps from the Mid-Levels Escalator in Central. Breathing new life into this gastronomic institution, Soho Spice now boasts a bold new design by Australia-based in-house designer Anita Lopez, coupled with an innovative new menu by chef Peter Cuong Franklin, who incorporates his classic French cooking technique with his Vietnamese heritage and market-fresh ingredients to deliver the flavours, aromas, and traditions of Southeast Asian street food.

The fresh and vibrant Southeast Asian street food dishes are designed to pair perfectly with the bar’s selection of craft beers, cocktails, and the labels of Soho Spice’s curated wine list.

“This new Soho Spice street food-inspired menu is based on my travels, eating, and cooking across Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and other local regions over the past 20 years. The dishes are accented with fresh herbs and local spices that excite the taste buds with every bite and reflect Southeast Asian heritage and culture,” says chef Franklin.

Bathed in golden light from banks of suspended pendant lamps, with soothing tile, rattan chairs, and captivating concentric patterns in naked timber gracing the walls, Soho Spice’s dining room is bright and sophisticated, serving as the perfect canvas on which chef Franklin presents his modern take on traditional Southeast Asian fare.

By day the Dining Concepts restaurant is bright and open, with floor-to-ceiling rear windows looking onto the garden patio, making for an ideal lunch destination in the heart of Soho. By night, intimate lighting sets the scene for a stylish dining encounter, especially when enjoyed in the restaurant’s al fresco secret garden. The new-look restaurant, with a capacity of 65 guests, also boasts a private dining room that caters for up to 14, an ideal venue for corporate dining and private meetings.
