Delta Airlines is offering members of its Skymiles loyalty programme the chance to earn bonus miles and save up to 40 percent with qualifying car rentals from Hertz.

The new promotion is valid for car rentals that are reserved with SkyMiles numbers and picked up by July 31, 2015

SkyMiles’ general members will earn 500 miles per rental, along with 200 bonus miles per day. Gold and Silver Medallion Members will earn 1,000 miles per rental, while Diamond and Platinum Medallion members will receive 1,250 miles per rental; all Medallion members will also recieve 300 bonus miles per day.

All up, SkyMiles members will be able to earn at least 700 miles per rental, and as many as 3,350 miles. On top of this, they will benefit from savings of up to 40 percent, depending on the rental date, location and vehicle type.

Rentals must be for a minimum of one day, and renters must be at least 25 years of age. Reservations are required and must be made at least eight hours in advance.
