Red Roof Debuts in Japan

Red Roof, an economy hotel chain in the United States, has expanded its portfolio in Japan with the opening of a new property in Osaka’s lively Namba district. The former 198-room Floral Inn has become the 224-room Red Roof Plus+ Namba Osaka after undergoing a $14.5 million renovation. The property has been updated with the standard Red Roof Plus+ décor and amenities, and is marketed to both business and leisure travellers.

The Red Roof Plus+ in Namba-Osaka is ideally situated near the famous Dotonbori shopping and entertainment district of Osaka. It is also within minutes of the Namba, Nipponbashi and Shinsaibashi stations, as well as the famous Midosuji shopping arcade.

“At Red Roof our international development and expansion efforts have been extremely successful,” says Phil Hugh, chief development officer, Red Roof. “The opening of the Red Roof Plus+ in Osaka is a testament to the appeal of the Red Roof brand and its attractiveness to investors and travellers, and adds to our growing portfolio of properties in global locations including Brazil and Thailand.” www.redroof.com
