Qatar Airways to Launch Seasonal Flights to Chiang Mai

Qatar Airways will expand its growing services to Thailand with seasonal flights to the northern city of Chiang Mai starting December 7, 2017.

The new route, Qatar Airways’ fourth destination in the country, comes in addition to existing services to the Thai capital, Bangkok, and to the popular beach destinations of Phuket and Krabi in the south.

The new four-times weekly seasonal service will operate between Doha (DOH) and Chiang Mai (CNX) from December 2017 until May 2018, and will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flight QR822 will depart Doha at 20:05 and arrive at 06:00 the following day. The return leg, QR823, will depart Chiang Mai every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 07:10 to arrive in Doha at 10:55. All times local.

Qatar Airways first started flying to Thailand in 1996 with a service to Bangkok. Flights then followed to Phuket and Krabi. The airline currently offers five daily flights from Doha to Bangkok, as well as a double-daily service from Doha to Phuket, and three flights a week from Doha to Krabi. Later this year, Krabi will become a daily service, which means the total number of flights each week to Thailand will rise to 60.
