MO Bar at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong has introduced a new afternoon tea inspired by the romance of a French picnic, offering an alternative option for casual business catch-ups.

Served from a miniature wooden picnic table atop a grassy table set with chic French red and white striped linen napkins, the afternoon tea showcases a fresh and light seasonal menu, including duck pâté served in a glass jar with crispy baguette; smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumbers in a soft white bread roll with lime mayonnaise and flowers; crispy air pita wrapped with Iberico ham and pimento del piquillos gel; and toasted milk bun with spicy Boston lobster and lobster mayonnaise.

Sweet treats include raspberry clafoutis with almond crumble; Japanese strawberries dipped in white chocolate; chocolate cupcake with cherry and butter cream; gianduja chocolate mousse “burger” with mango and passion fruit; and rose petal panna cotta with watermelon and strawberry. The gourmet treat also features MO Bar’s classic plain and raisin scones with clotted cream and preserves.

In addition, the new afternoon tea offers a refreshing seasonal drinks menu. The pièce de résistance is Happy Valley Tea, a mid-afternoon cocktail of plum and peach-infused Bulleit Rye whiskey, homemade cordial, and English Breakfast tea served with fresh plum and peach. Other drinks include ginger-infused cranberry juice and ginger and grapefruit peel mocktail.

At HK$260 (US$34) per person, the afternoon tea is served from 15:00 to 17:30 from Mondays to Fridays and 14:30 to 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Optional add-ons include HK$128 (US$17) for a cocktail or a glass of Ruinart Brut Rosé Champagne. www.landmark.hk/dining/mo-bar
