American Express to Open New Lounge at Melbourne Airport

American Express will open a new lounge at Australia’s Melbourne International Airport later this year, as part of the company’s growing investment in rewards, benefits, and experiences for Australian Card Members.

The new American Express Lounge in Melbourne will be the brand’s second airport lounge in Australia since the opening of the American Express Lounge at Sydney Airport in November 2014.

The lounge will be operated by global airport service specialists Plaza Premium Group and will provide guests with premium airline lounge offerings, from barista-made coffee, a self-service food buffet and drink station, to complimentary wifi and business facilities, as well as local and international newspapers and magazines.

Melbourne Tullamarine is an important transport hub for many Australian and international travellers and the new airport lounge will be a welcome travel benefit for cardmembers, joining the brand’s growing Global Lounge Collection, where eligible American Express card members have access to more than 1,000 lounges in 500 cities across 120 countries, with Philadelphia and Hong Kong lounges also planned to open this year.
